Carlos Alcaraz Garfia is a Spanish professional tennis player.

He has been ranked as high as world No. 6 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals.

Alcaraz has won five ATP Tour singles titles, including two Masters 1000 titles, and achieved his best Grand Slam performances at the 2021 US Open and 2022 French Open by reaching the quarterfinals.

Carlos Alcaraz’s coach is Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Juan Carlos Ferrero Donat is a Spanish former World No. 1 tennis player.

He was born on February 12, 1980, in Ontinyent, Spain to Eduardo Ferrero and Rosario Donat.

Ferrero has two siblings; Ana Ferrero and Laura Ferrero.

At age 7, Juan Ferrero began playing tennis with his father, Eduard who usually traveled with him.

He rose to prominence in 1998, making the final of the French Open Juniors, losing to Fernando González. He ranked as the No. 17 junior that year. That same year, Ferrero made his professional debut and reached the finals of his first Futures tournament in Italy. He won two Futures events and ranked No. 345.

Ferrero won the men’s singles title at the 2003 French Open and emerged as world number one in the ATP ranking. He became the 21st player to hold the top ranking – for eight weeks.

Following the 2012 Valencia Open, Ferrero nicknamed “Mosquito” retired from professional tennis.

After retiring in 2012, it was announced that Juan Carlos would make a come back in the ATP World Tour, playing in the Barcelona doubles draw alongside Pablo Carreño Busta. However, this would be his only tournament.

In his 14-year career as a tennis player, Ferrero amassed 16 titles, 1 Grand Slam, 4 Masters Series, 2 ATP 500, and 9 ATP 250.

His fitness trainer was Miguel Maeso, and he was coached by Antonio Martínez Cascales (from 1989) and Salvador Navarro (from May 2008).

In July 2017, Ferrero started working as a coach of then-No. 11 Alexander Zverev. The work ended in February 2018, and now coaches Spanish professional tennis player Carlos Alcaraz.

Juan Carlos Ferrero has been the CEO & Sporting Director at JC Ferrero-Equelite Sport Academy since November 2012.

Ferrero resides in Villena with his wife Eva Alonso their child.
