The NYPD has detained Elisaul Perez, the alleged perpetrator of the attack.
The New York police are investigating an attack received by a 61-year-old Asian woman who was hit on the head with a rock, alleged for a hate crime.
Prior to that, the incident took place on Friday at 89th Street in Jackson Heights around 8:00 am, as per the authorities in charge of the case.
Who Is Elisaul Perez Arrested? Victim Qui Ying Ma
Elisaul Perez was the person who attacked an Asian woman, struck her head with a stone at 89th Street in Jackson Heights.
GuiYing Ma, 61, has been identified as the victim, who was sweeping in front of his apartment at the time of receiving the attack.
During that time, Perez approached the woman and hit her on the head with a rock. The incident is claimed to be a hate crime, or we can say discrimination.
Ma, however, was taken to the Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive.

Elisaul Perez Charges Explained: What Did He Do?
Perez, however, was arrested and is charged with assault in the first and second degree and criminal possession of a weapon.
The 61-year-old Asian woman was innocently trying to make her block just a little nicer and cleaner, but the 33-year-old Perez came up and smashed her head with a rock.
It is quite not sure if the Asian woman was targeted due to her race. However, the Police said that the Hates Crimes Task Force is investigating the attack.
Similarly, it is unclear if the system will release Perez before the Asian woman recovers at the hospital.
The Landlord of the apartment, however, has set up a GoFundMe page to help the couple pay for their medical expenses.

As per the news reports, Elisaul Perez is 33 years of age.
With the calculation from his available age, Perez was born in 1988. It is believed that Perez is a resident of Jackson Heights, Queens.
The Police, however, haven’t exposed details of Perez, due to which his personal details, on the other hand, remain unknown.
Similarly, the details of his wife and family haven’t been surfaced on the media yet.
