Luis Severino is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Luis Severino was born on February 20, 1994, in Sabana de la Mar, Dominican Republic. He signed with the New York Yankees as an international free agent on December 26, 2011, agreeing on a $225,000 signing bonus.
Luis Severino made his MLB debut in 2015 and was the youngest pitcher to make a start in the 2015 MLB season at the age of 21.
Luis Severino broke out as one of the league’s best pitchers in 2017 and was named an All-Star and finished third in the American League Cy Young Award vote. He was also named an All-Star in 2018.
Luis Severino is presently married to his wife, Rosmaly and they have one daughter, who was born in July 2015. His second child, a son named Luis Jr, was later born on July 8, 2021.
